Ithaca, New York Restaurants

  • Madeline's.  "Madeline’s owner, the award-winning pastry chef, Teresa Miller, worked with famed Ithaca restaurateur, Lex Chutintaranond in 1997, when they converted the former Izard’s Department store into the upscale urban Euro-Asian fusion jazz eatery that has become a local fixture and tourist destination.

Madeline’s is a fusion of flavors and ingredients from the Pacific and Western worlds, creating a unique Euro-Asian cuisine.

The menu at Madeline’s changes frequently and evolves constantly with the seasons using the freshest ingredients throughout the year.

Desserts are a highlight at Madeline’s, filling all 16 feet of our fully stocked display case. Pastry chef, Teresa Miller, uses the best chocolate, fruits and liquors available when making the desserts.

The visually stunning bar highlights over 80 single malt scotches and brandies, a wine list of l00 bottles, representing wines from across the globe, and offering spirits rarely seen elsewhere."

  • Moosewood Restaurant.  "Moosewood, Inc. is a collectively owned business with nineteen members who share responsibilities and participate in the various jobs necessary to run what has grown from a very small natural foods restaurant to become a larger and more diversified company. Most members of the Collective have worked together for at least 15 years, and some since the restaurant's inception in 1973. The restaurant is further staffed by a talented and dedicated group of employees whom we truly appreciate and without whom we could not operate.

With our emphasis on healthful natural foods cuisine, Moosewood Restaurant has operated successfully for thirty-three years and has been acclaimed as a driving force in the world of creative vegetarian cooking. Moosewood was named one of the thirteen most influential restaurants of the 20th Century by Bon Appetit magazine. We started in an era when many alternative businesses began, and we feel incredibly grateful to have endured, thrived and had a positive impact..."
